“I laugh, I wonder, I learn something.” — Adventures in Ideas participant

When you want to learn about past and current events, and put your knowledge in context and in service of today’s problems, you come to Adventures in Ideas seminars, Humanities in Action lectures, and Spotlight on Scholars events to learn from the best scholars and teachers at Carolina.

Why? Because you know that you’ll get to interact with first-rate minds, with people who are experts in their fields and amazing teachers. You know that you’ll enjoy your experience in classrooms that are conducive to learning.  And you know that you’ll be treated with warmth and professionalism by our staff.

Thanks to you, we can keep excellence and access alive, offering amazing opportunities for you to learn from outstanding faculty about topics spanning the past to the present.

Your gift of $100, $500, $1,000 or $5,000 can make all the difference — to our faculty, our teachers, our staff, and to everyone who works to serve you.

If you’d like, you can specify your gift to support the area that interests you most. You can choose to assist us in reaching our state’s K-12 teachers and students, support our outstanding faculty, or contribute to our general operating funds, which are critical to our success. You can direct your gifts to grow our endowment funds and enable us to offer our programs at rates more affordable for all.

The Humanities Program would not be possible without your generous support. Registration fees cover only 30% of the cost of presenting seminars and we rely upon private resources to sustain the high quality programming you expect. Gifts of all sizes help keep our fees affordable and our programs accessible to as many participants as possible. Private funds also help provide scholarship assistance to public schoolteachers in our state. And finally, your gifts make it possible for us to attract and compensate top faculty as well as provide superior amenities and technological support for our programs. Thank you again for your ongoing support of the humanities. We couldn’t do it without your help.
