Active learning can be used to engage all types of students. Nowhere has adopting this practice changed teaching more than in the sciences. Michael Crimmins, winner of the 2016 Board of Governors’ Award for Excellence in Teaching, will discuss the redesign of introductory level science courses at UNC and how the new courses have impacted student performance and student perception of science.

All Spotlight on Scholars events take place at Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill. There are no preparatory readings for these events.
