Why We Lost: A General Looks at Afghanistan and Iraq

Lieutenant General Dan Bolger (retired), a former senior U.S. field commander in Iraq and Afghanistan, will explain why he believes our campaigns in those countries ended in failure. His talk will address how and why we didn’t understand our enemies, and offer a critical assessment of why we committed our conventional forces to indecisive, irregular warfare. This lecture will challenge the audience to ponder what these hard lessons mean for the future of U.S. foreign policy.

TIME: 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
