Independence Lost: Lives on the Edge of the American Revolution
October 6, 2015
Kathleen DuVal, Professor of History
In her new book, Independence Lost: Lives on the Edge of the American Revolution, historian Kathleen DuVal brings us a less-familiar story of America’s founding: the history of the Revolutionary Era as experienced by slaves, American Indians, women, and British loyalists living on Florida’s Gulf Coast. We’ll meet these marginalized individuals and learn how the choices they made were crucial to the war’s outcome.
