Numerous states are enacting restrictive immigration laws, the federal government is stalling on immigration reform, and a chorus of discontent from both sides of the political spectrum is growing over the state of undocumented immigrants. This lecture will examine how these factors, combined with longstanding racial issues and the first reelection campaign of an African-American president, affect the elections of 2012.
