CPH is partnering with Flyleaf Books and the Orange County Community Remembrance Coalition to host a conversation with author Kevin W. Young about his book, The Violent World of Broadus Miller: A Story of Murder, Lynch Mobs, and Judicial Punishment in the Carolinas. Joined by Seth Kotch (Associate Professor of American History), Dr. Young will discuss the violence-wracked world of the early 20th century in the Carolinas, the stormy race relations of the time, and the legacy of that era that lingers into the present.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
A native of western North Carolina, Kevin W. Young holds a PhD in history from the University of Georgia.
He teaches at Appalachian State University.
