Can We Find a Cure? Challenges and Opportunities in Breast Cancer

September 12, 2017 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Lisa Carey, Richardson and Marilyn Jacobs Preyer Distinguished Professor in Breast Cancer Research

Cancer enters the lives of almost every family in America, but are medical researchers now working in a social and scientific context that impedes or facilitates the search for a cure for this persistent, dangerous disease? We’ll examine this question with a leading UNC expert, who will help us understand the challenges and new opportunities that are shaping breast cancer research and treatments.

All Humanities in Action events take place at Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill. There are no preparatory readings for these events.
