Cities of Literature
June 21 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm
$30 – $55Inspired by UNESCO’s program of the same name, this seminar will ask participants and speakers to consider the qualities that make a city “literary.” Is it the presence of libraries? Publishers? The quality of educational or public art programs? Inspirational landscapes or rich history? Carolina Public Humanities asked scholars from across the College of Arts and Sciences to champion a city they found to be exceptionally literary. Presenters will provide a glimpse into the city of their choosing, the foundations of its literary strength, and the larger cultural ecosystems adding vibrance and character to the landscape.
