Europe Today: The Old World in a New Era

In collaboration with the Center for European Studies
In the decades since World War II, states in Europe have created a cohesive government in the EU that transcends old boundaries and links disparate peoples together in one of the world’s largest economies. This seminar will explore contemporary Europe and its model of governance to see what it may have to offer as examples for the rest of the world. It will also examine what European identity means in the face of changing demographics and a reckoning with its history of colonization. Covering political, economic, social, and cultural topics, the seminar will shine a light on the Europe of today and challenge our conceptions of the “Old World.”

TIME AND TUITION
9:15 am-3:45 pm, Saturday, November 13. This program is in-person only, and the tuition is $125 to attend. The optional lunch on Saturday is $15.
