Film Screening & Panel Discussion: Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America

Join Carolina Public Humanities and the 18 Judicial District Bar at the Chelsea Theatre for a panel discussion on Sunday, Feb. 27 after the 4 pm showing of Who We Are: A Chronicle of Racism in America at the Chelsea Theater. (For those who are unable to attend in person, a streaming option is available for the panel discussion only; see details below.)

In this timely documentary (118 minutes) criminal defense/civil rights lawyer Jeffery Robinson draws a stark timeline of anti-Black racism in the United States, from slavery to the modern myth of a post-racial America. Weaving heartbreak, humor, and passion, Robinson’s film welcomes all viewers in to examine our oft forgotten and mythicized past, as well as our shared responsibility to create a better country in our lifetimes. Ultimately, the film asks each of us to examine who we are, where we come from, and who we want to be. 

Following the 4 pm matinee showing on Feb. 27 of Who We Are at the Chelsea Theater (ticket purchase required), attendees are invited to stay for a free panel discussion of the film’s themes featuring:

While the panel discussion is free, a ticket purchase from the Chelsea to view the film on Feb. 27 is required. Tickets ($9.75 ea.) are available through the Chelsea Theater online here.  

Please note that the Chelsea Theatre requires proof of vaccination or a negative COVID. Masks are required.
