Food Security in North Carolina Today: What’s Happening and What Can We Do About It?

April 8, 2020 @ 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

Free

For this discussion, we will be joined by Dr. Maureen Berner, Professor of Public Administration and Government at UNC, and Megan Tice, Hunger Relief Programs Director at TABLE. Our speakers will address how COVID-19 is impacting food access throughout the state and offer historical context for disparities in food security. Together, we will discuss the resources available to families experiencing food insecurity today, as well as the ways in which North Carolinians can come together to combat hunger at this critical moment.

Moderated by Joanna Sierks Smith, Carolina Public Humanities
