How to History
June 7 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm
$30 – $55Since 2023, Carolina Public Humanities has partnered with the NC Department of Natural and Cultural resources on the PUSH Project (Priority Updates at State Historic Sites) with the goal of expanding historical narratives at state sites. CPH recruited research fellows to draft narratives to bring new voices, data, and historical perspectives to each site. This seminar invites several of those research fellows to use their work at NC historic sites as a jumping off point in a broader discussion of the historian’s process. What resources and processes come into play when researching and developing historical narratives? What questions do you ask? What responsibilities do you feel, or challenges do you face? We’ll investigate these questions and more in this deep dive into the work that goes into researching and communicating our shared histories.
