One Big Home

January 17, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

On the tiny island of Martha’s Vineyard, where presidents and celebrities vacation, trophy homes threaten to destroy the island’s unique character. Twelve years in the making, the film One Big Home follows Thomas Bena, a local carpenter, on his very personal journey to understand the trend toward giant houses.

The film is hyper relevant to the many communities such as Chapel Hill/Carrboro that face dilemmas in which growth may also threaten the environment and local character.

Join us for the film and an engaging panel discussion with the audience following! Panelists will include filmmaker Thomas Bena, Pete Andrews of UNC’s Institute for the Environment, Carrboro architect Sophie Piesse, and Roger Waldon of Clarion Associates and former Planning Director for the Town of Chapel Hill.

Pre-registration preferred. $15 for the general public and $10 for UNC GAA & Chelsea members.

Chelsea Members, call us at 919.962.1544 and have your Chelsea Member # ready to receive the discount. For more information about becoming a Chelsea Member, visit https://thechelseatheater.org/member/
