Our Misperceptions of Misinformation and Public Understanding of Science
September 29 @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
This hybrid lecture series will focus on the role of truth and misinformation in society. Lectures will be held 3:30–5:00 pm on Wednesdays. Your registration fee of $20 ($15 for GAA) lets you attend in person at Flyleaf Books or virtually via Zoom. A Season Pass is available for $80 ($65 GAA).
This series has long been our forum for “topics in the news,” and we continue that tradition with five talks that speak to challenges we face in America today, or subjects that are difficult to discuss in a heated political environment. Each lecture will be accompanied by a question and answer session with the presenter. Please be sure to verify the dates and times for all CPH events this spring as circumstances change quickly.

**Please note that due to UNC regulations, masks will be required for all in-person events regardless of vaccination status. In-person and hybrid events may switch to virtual-only based upon recommendations from local, state, and national public health officials. If an in-person or hybrid event is designated “virtual-only,” the CPH staff will contact registrants and provide them with information on how to attend virtually or with options for receiving credits or refunds. If you have any questions, please email email@example.com or call 919.962.1544. We appreciate your flexibility during these trying times.**
Advance registrants can take advantage of our special HUMANITIES IN ACTION SEASON PASS – register for all the semester’s Humanities in Action events for $80.00 ($65.00 for GAA members).
If you take the GAA discount and are not a GAA member, you will be asked to join or pay the difference before the event. To check your membership status or to join the GAA, please visit alumni.unc.edu or call 800.962.0742. GAA membership is open to all UNC alumni and friends.
Tuition for virtual viewing is free for K-12 teachers. If you are a current K-12 teacher, click here to register for virtual viewing of any Fall 2021 Humanities in Action lecture. Complimentary teacher registration closes two hours before the start of the event.
