Thomas M. Carsey, Thomas J. Pearsall Distinguished Professor of Political Science and Director, Odum Institute for Research in Social Science

Headlines proclaim that our most recent full Congress was the least productive, and some go so far as to call it “the worst” Congress in decades. Tom Carsey will explore possible reasons for these claims, looking backward to evaluate whether today’s Congress is unique as well as forward to speculate on whether we can expect more of the same. Is Congress broken, and if so, can it be fixed?
