Reputation, Credibility, and the Risk of War

Does the sullied reputation of strong international powers diminish their effectiveness in preventing conflict and put the world at greater risk? Professor Mark Crescenzi speaks about the impact of a nation’s reputation on the outbreak of war. He addresses the role of the United States’ reputation in its ability to avoid violence in the Middle East and Asia. He also discusses the role of reputation and learning in understanding war and violence between the state of Israel and its neighbors.
