Twenty-five years ago on November 9, the seemingly unthinkable happened in the blink of an eye. After 28 years of standing as a (literally) concrete symbol of the divide between East and West that defined the Cold War, the Berlin Wall fell. Its collapse heralded the contemporary globalized world, whose onset was so sudden and complete that we’ve hardly had time to catch our breath. Come to the George Watts Hill Alumni Center for an afternoon with distinguished scholars from a variety of disciplines as they engage in a conversation on the impact and meaning of this major historical event. Refreshments will be served.
