Great Books Reading Groups at Flyleaf Books (click titles for detailed descriptions)

Yearning to revisit some of your favorite classics? Join UNC faculty discussion leaders for a session on context and meaning, and then return in two weeks to tackle substantive issues in the text. We are pleased to offer Great Books Reading Groups in partnership with Flyleaf Books of Chapel Hill. To be sure we are literally on the same page, every participant will receive a copy of the book before the first session. The Reading Group meets on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Flyleaf Books. Light refreshments will be offered.

Language Lunches (click titles for detailed descriptions)

Interested in polishing or refreshing your foreign language speaking skills? Meet with UNC faculty discussion leaders at Flyleaf Books for a lunch where participants are encouraged to speak only in a foreign language for the hour. All participants will receive a short foreign language article prior to the lunch that will serve as the foundation for our discussion. A brown bag lunch will be provided. Language Lunches are at Flyleaf Books (752 MLK Jr. Blvd. in Chapel Hill) from noon to 1:00 p.m. Seats are limited, so sign up early to reserve your spot! The cost is $20.

“Thursdays at the Friday” is a new, weekday morning program format of two lectures and a discussion held at the Friday Center for Continuing Education.
