VIRTUAL Weekend Seminars
Join Carolina Public Humanities for exciting virtual weekend seminars this summer!
Our Adventures in Ideas and Dialogues weekend seminars will continue to be held online this summer, where you can enjoy them from the comfort and safety of your own home! We have been working hard to create a virtual community, combining the scholars and content you love with the perks of online programming:
- With your registration fee, you can attend the seminar in real time (with live Q&A) or you can watch the recording at your leisure for up to 2 weeks after it is posted – or both!
- Encourage your local and out-of-town friends and family to register as well so that you can share the experience.
The Adventures in Ideas seminars are our longer, full-day programs featuring three or more speakers. The registration fee for each Adventures in Ideas seminar is $40, or you can attend for FREE with the CPH Summer Pass!
The Dialogues seminars are our shorter, half-day programs featuring two speakers. The registration fee for each Dialogues seminar is $30, or you can attend for FREE with the CPH Summer Pass!
**This year, we are offering a CPH SUMMER PASS for $125 ($100 for GAA members). The CPH SUMMER PASS covers all online programs – including four weekend seminars, two music events, and three Lunch with Friends and Strangers programs. (Great Books classes are not included in the Summer Pass because of class size limitations.)

Carolina Public Humanities offers two types of weekend seminars: Adventures in Ideas and Dialogues.
Adventures in Ideas is our flagship program. We have hosted over 850 seminars since 1979, educating and entertaining over 55,000 participants. These sessions feature in-depth explorations of topics drawing on the latest scholarship and the most dynamic faculty from UNC and other area institutions. Built around a single topic, theme, approach, or sometimes purposely eclectic, these seminars help us appreciate the depth and interwoven nature of knowledge.
Dialogues are half-day programs that put two scholars in conversation with each other on a related topic.
