Environmental Justice in Eastern Carolina

Join Neuse Regional Library and Carolina Public Humanities for this virtual talk about racial and environmental justice in Eastern Carolina.

Dr. Danielle Purifoy, lawyer and Professor of Geography at UNC-Chapel Hill, will deliver a lecture on the history of environmental racism in Eastern Carolina, the grassroots activist movements that have pushed for environmental and racial justice, and the urgent issues facing the region’s communities today.

Her lecture will be followed by a Q & A in which we will invite all audience members to bring their questions, comments, and perspectives to the conversation.
