Understanding China in the 21st Century: A Historical Perspective
September 26, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
featuring Donald Santacaterina, Ph.D. Candidate, Department of History
In collaboration with Wayne Community College
Historian Donald Santacaterina will illuminate our understanding of China’s ascension as a global superpower as it has maintained its authoritarian model of government. By explaining the way that many Chinese citizens understand their own history, he will provide common ground for a discussion of the many antagonisms that plague China-U.S. relations, from human rights violations in Xinjiang to China-Hong Kong relations to the expansion of Chinese technology corporations.
